Area Familiarization Tours are a terrific pre-hire recruiting tool.* Our representative presents your area in a positive, objective light. Tours are custom tailored to your candidates interests and can include information about a wide range of housing options and costs; neighborhood descriptions; schools; child & elder care; transportation; cultural activities; parks & recreation; restaurants and entertainment; houses of worship and your institution. Our AFT representative will perform a pre-tour phone consultation to insure the best use of your candidates visit time. Candidates are contacted within 24 hours of receipt of authorization. If faster service is needed, please contact a HERS team member.

Before actual tour services can be performed, you must issue HERS a purchase order (or provide a credit card number) to cover the Area Familiarization Tour expense.

* When tours are performed pre-hire, they are a business expense and not a taxable benefit to your candidate. If performed after the employee accepts a position, they are a taxable benefit.
